Challenges
The robotic platform (Unmanned Ground Vehicle or UGV) have 6X6 configurations and will carry a payload of 100 kg with its net weight as 700kg. The average speed is 20 km/hr (maximum speed may be up to 40k/hr) and the maximum inclination is be 20°. The UGV is electrically powered from an onboard 72V DC battery bank. The 6X6 vehicle is fitted with six In-wheel Hub motors along with brakes and encoders. These independent wheels are mounted on a retractable, telescopic arm equipped with passive shock absorbers and a 24VDC linear actuator. Angle sensor will be used to measure the change of relative angles of the retractable, telescopic arm. However, these motors do not have any separate steering mechanism rather it uses skid-steering mechanism as shown in Figure - 1 below. The turnings of the UGV are achieved through differences in speeds of the left and right wheels.
Solution
OTI developed software for real-time monitoring of sheathing lines, insulation lines, and Quading machines.The proposed solution includes the following high-level features:User management for up to ten users, with the flexibility to expand as the software is not limited by user or license constraints.Display of zone temperature, cable diameter and length, line speed, and concentricity.A dashboard for generating reports based on user-specified durations (daily, monthly, yearly, or shift-wise) for both production lines, including quantity produced (in km/m), breakdown reports, and parameter trends.An alarm feature that triggers in case of violations in OEE, breakdowns, or scrap details.This system utilizes standard components to optimize power usage, resulting in high efficiency with minimal power wastage. The components used for integration and automation are future-proof, allowing for easy expansion if the application scope increases.
- Develop two custom-tailored Android applications for controlling a 6x6 wheeled UGV.
- Done app will run on a 7” tablet mounted on the UGV for diagnostics and information display.
- DThe second app will run on a handheld device integrated with a wireless remote control (SKYDROID H16) for parallel control and sensor data display.
- DImplement GUI features such as ON-OFF control, battery information, diagnostic tools, camera vision, GNSS sensor data, and more.
